Welcome to CiteFest!

We're trying out some new whizbang tools for creating and managing our citations and marked resources, and we need your help!

Step one: Think back to the last time you were doing some serious research ... was that just yesterday? Great.

• What tools did you use to gather and organize your footnotes and bibliography?  Were you still stuck with 3x5 cards?
• Were you doing all your research online?
• Did your tool work well with a web browser?
• How about with your writing application?
• Were you collaborating with anyone, and were you able to share your citations easily?
• Did you have any non-English stuff? How'd that work out?
• Have some ideas about how this whole citation management thing should be done?
• Were you just frustrated by the whole process and thought that there must be a better way, if only you would take a bit of time to learn it?

Jot down some thoughts about that and move on to step two  (if you're tired of us already, you could just stop now send us an email with your thoughts at citefest@northwestern.edu.)

Step two: Post a challenge! We are looking for tasks that we can use to test the tools.

Step three: Volunteer to join a CiteFest shootout team!! You could even nominate yourself to be coach if you think you're really special at any particular tool! (there will be prizes, but you gotta play to win)
