Joining a team is as easy as editing a wiki page (actually this one)! We've been discussing what tools might be good to work with for the shootout, and we've come up with the following:
Connotea (Free/Open Source)
Team members: Sharon Bautista, Beth Clausen
CiteULike
Team members: Claire Stewart
EndNote (non-Web application, PC and/or Mac)
Team members: Geoff Morse, Jeff Garrett, Kim Specht
NoodleBib Express
Team members: Scott Garton, Charlotte Cubbage
RefWorks
Team members:Brian Nielsen, Denise Shorey
Zotero (Free/Open Source)
Team members: Kathleen Murphy, Sebastian Karcher
Space is limited, sign up soon! If you're interested but don't want to join a team, email citefest@northwestern.edu and we'll keep you on the update list.
If you plan to attend on Feb 29, either to participate in the tests or to observe, please click here to register. You will be prompted for your NetID and password.
Here's how the CiteFest Face-Off will work: teams will have a chance to meet, talk, and practice any time before the February 29 Face-Off. At 1:30 on the 29th, we will all convene in the Mac/PC lab in the Library basement, and the actual challenges will be revealed. Teams will compete to finish the challenges first, and a panel of celebrity library judges will score the results on the basis of SPEED and ACCURACY/QUALITY. There will be prizes!
Other nominated tools
A number of users wrote in or added to the wiki some tools that might also be worth testing. Since we didn't have any users sign up to be on those testing teams, we're not including them in the February CiteFest, but hope to give some kind of overview of their attributes in the summary presentation. If you WOULD like to test these during CiteFest, please add your name!
